Confused, I asked google what does a word mean? And I was amused by its beautiful yet ironically funny answer! Google said:

Word- a single, distinct, meaningful element of speech, used with others (or sometimes alone) to form a sentence and typically shown with a space on either side when written or printed to form a meaning!

Funny how my mind smiled and interpreted the explanation to be the definition of the state of a current individual in the present day world!
